ParticipantI have an LG WD14311RD Washer dryer in the workshop …..it is blowing fuses!
just discovered that there is a capacitor on the module with a tell tale lump in the side of the casing. The PCB has a coating like jelly so will be dificult to repair BUT just wondered if anyone knows of a repairer?
Tried the QER website…..NO GOOD
🙂

not a lot u can do unless you can get board out of jelly
but look at it this way if the customer is in agreement you have nothing to loose if you can get at the solder joints even by cutting a hole in the plastic frame then you can replace it
hope this helps

What fuses is it blowing? Is it a fuse on the module? Couldn’t see a pcb mounted uf drawing enough current to blow a 13 amp plug fuse, unless it’s pretty big. Think it could be a side issue.

Did think of that Dave……..BUT the capacitor is a 430w 330uf and I am not sure if I could get one anywhere?
As for the fuses Mike, it is the 13a plug fuse that is going with quite a spark! I have disconnected everything from the pcb and tried again….it still blows the fuse, I then tried it with just the mains lead and the little filter board and it was okay.
The capacitor is a lumpy 330uf! and as I said, it has a large lump in the side which sugests it has blown. Have now ordered a new PCB from connect I will try to find a new cap as well and may do as you sugest Mike and drill a big hole in the back of the plastic, it will be nice to know if I can at least use it as a tester for any future lg’s I think the pcb may well be interchangeable.
Thanks for replies ……..I will report back with results! 😀
