    Hi Folks

Been to this today and main bearings starting to go noisy

Not done one of these before but looks straight forward – motor off/cast iron bearing housing off etc. Is this job as straight forward as it looks or is there anything I should be aware of – something drops off half way through/hidden bolts/do i need any special tools other than the usuall bearing removal stuff etc.?

Is there a patten bearing kit for one of these or is it best to use gen. parts but the gen kit is a bit pricey?

Estimating approx one and a half/two hours for this – is this about right?

    Comments appreciated.

    Thanks

    Mick

Did one a year or so ago. Was a piece of cake. Can’t remember about the bits. Probably used genuine seal and generic bearings. Think Bosch sell the seals seperately. Wasn’t expensive and you can hike the parts price a bit and still give a good deal ’cause the genuine bearings are such a rip off price.

    BS05103 bearing kit on Masterpart – £8.00.

One of the easiest bearing jobs you’ll ever do.
