Just had a call from a punter who has inherited an ISE-2 Vestel produced machine.

Sold to him by someone who has had a new kitchen with integrated appliances fitted.

Machine was installed by me 28/07/2008 so is technically still under its 2 year warranty.

I have already told him that the warranty is non transferable ( wasn’t exactly sure but best to err on the side of caution).

    Is this the case ?

Appears to be flashing code 06, motor fault. I have no spares prices for these as yet, call booked in for Saturday AM.

Not had any motor/brush faults on these but have had to change three modules for an 06 error code.

Dunno Jim, best to ask John on that as it’s never happened that I can recall.

But John doesn’t read the forums very often. 😉

Just in case, can you PM me the cost to me of a motor, carbons & PCB for a Vestel ISE-2 if that is possible.

Sent John an e-mail, looks like he doesn’t read them that often either. :rolls: 🙂

Not a problem, went to it this morning.

Somehow I don’t see AXA coughing up for the removal of a six inch plug of rendering from the leg of a Welsh mountain pecker (lamb) from the waste outlet pipe. :rolls: 😆

Remember John’s on the road a lot and, quite often, won’t see emails for days at a stretch. 😉

But no, I doubt AXA would cough up for animal fat!! 😆

I guess you and John are different animals when it comes to communications technology. 🙂

Do you keep your Blackberry/iPhone under the pillow. 😆

I did tell the customer that as they had transported it themselves and the re installation was not done by an ISE agent that the warranty was void.

Will see what John has to say when he reads his e-mails.

    Blackbery, pah! 😉

I just like to keep an eye on thing is all. I’m usually not too far from email and/or a PC in some form or another.

    Jim

I have resold a previously registered appliance, customer had an ise2-1 and wanted to upgrade it to the 5-2.
So when i then resold it (obviously at a lower price) explained that the previous customer had an upgrade and this is now sold as graded or used the guarantee is now only 18mths.

Just tell David the customers new details it should not be a problem!!

Now you have been out to this one and as it is a user fault charge them on this occasion but now you have now checked the install condition and your happy with the setup you could tell them that the machine will still be covered for manufacture breakdown for the remainder as long as its being used as per the t&c.

    Its your call!!

You can be assured thats exactly what I did. 😉

TBH there is only a couple months of the two year warranty left on this one so its hardly worth the bother of re registering it.

Might be a different story with an ISE 10 so official clarification of the exact policy we should adopt would be a help. Until such time as that is forthcoming then a liberal dose of common sense is all that is required. 8)
