Hi
My door handel on my WD11 snapped off and i ordered a new one and received it. However i have no idea how to fit it
i have removed the door from the machine and taken out the 4/5 screws on the inside of the door.
Problem is i cant figure out how to get the old broken handle, pin and spring out and the new one in.
can soemone provide me with easy to understand step by step instructions?thanks

There are no easy, step by step instructions.
You have to split the door with a small, flat bladed screwdriver, take very careful note of how the spring, latch and handle are fitted, from then on its just a faff & fiddle until you get it back together. Not the easiest job, requires patience. 😉

I always take the door off the machine completely, its much easier to do it on a table or flat surface, the difficult bit is getting the handle, spring, latch and pin all lined up correctly, have fun. 😉

if you have a decent cameraphone if its a latch /wiring connection / etc ive never come across before i always take a picture of it prior to pinging bits out.

thanks for all your help guys, i managed to fix it last night!
the only problem i have now is that i managed to lose the washers which are used to fix the hinge back on the machine!
does anyone know where i can get replacements or what size they are?

You should have removed the door from the hinge by taking out the two screws and left the hinge on the machine BTW. 😉
No washers are shown on the parts diagram so I guess you will have to try and find something suitable from B&Q or similar outlets. Can’t actually picture any washers.

you misinterpreted me iadom 🙂
i didnt mean there was any wiring involved – i was merely pointing out the sort of situations where taking a pic is a useful backup to have like door handles, replacing a pcb, when you need to match up a part but cant take it off the machine etc…! its a very handy feature 🙂

My trusty Nokia N95 with 5 megapixel camera is used for that sort of thing all the time. 😉
