Indesit WD12X fills for 20 secs then pumps and selector rotates until power off. Any clues?

When the knob rotates, count the number of times the mains light flashes between pauses then consult the ‘Known Error Codes’ thread at the top of this forum.

Last comment a bit unfair. It was 8 flashes by the way, so collect your bets! Customer has ditched machine for “something better”. Hotpoint probably!! Thanks for your help.
