Weird whirlpool seal?????

ADG 7340..12 nc…8542 340 15820.

Complaint of poor wash results.

Bottom spray arm was very stiff to turn.

I removed the lower spray arm and the ‘seal’ was revealed. I can’t remember having taken a lower spray arm off one of these so didn’t know at first if it should have been there.

It was punctured in the middle but I could not see any reason for it being there.

The customer insists it was there when they took the arm off to clean it a few months ago.
I have removed it completely and told them to try the machine.
Cannot be sure but it looks to me exactly like the thin, grey rubber lid used on 35mm film canisters, the small black plastic doofers rarely seen in this digital age.

Now I could understand this getting into a washing machine, but a dishwasher. 😯
