KeymasterWell folks I had one of those ideas again, so get ready for it. 😉
We’re getting more and more hits from the general public as well as a lot of academic institutions looking for information on the whitegoods industry as a whole but it’s the public we’re dealing with here. To prove that point just type “whitegoods” into Google and see what happens! 😉
What I’d like to do is complie a “Buyer’s Guide” for each of the main product groups based on our experience in the field. Obviously this will be totally unique in the world since, as far as I know, there is nothing remotely similar exists anywhere else and certainly not from the people that mend them when they break!
Plus, posting what you think people in the street should and should not look out for should be an interesting thread to run anyway, as well as a bit of fun and I’m sure since I’m quite sure there will be some light-hearted advice in this too.
I’ll compile it and write it up, all I need is the tips and information and we’ll start with washing machines.
Any takers?

As it’s a buyers guide, should the public be made more aware of the ‘in disguise’ appliances out there.
We all know the one’s, where a major manufacturer either owns other brand names or sells their product to be badged as another brand. As a retailer I can guarantee from my dealings that the public are generally wholly unaware of this practice.
Examples:
AEG badge = Zanussi
Hoover badge = Candy
Hotpoint badge = Ariston ??? Soon maybe ?
Bosch badge = Balayetc etc.

I agree with Dave on washer “clones”.Perhaps this should be the first listing, how about explaining energy ratings and consumption levels then onto tips of the merits of different machines. Count me in on this one I`m 😀 to offer any input if needed.

KeymasterHave a look in the “sections” bit of the main nav bar. 😉
Explanations about consumptions and energy ratings would be great Don if you don’t mind doing it?
