ParticipantThis was totally dead. I had a look at interlock and it looked undamaged (opened up) but I couldn’t quite figure how it was supposed to work so I connected a flying mains lead accross the solenoid and watched. It chattered then started to get hot. Then I remembered that’s for opening the door and switched it off. 😳 The solenoid had got so hot it had gone stiff to move so I put it to one side while I got on with trying to figure out the rest of the m/c.
Under the lid I checked the supply end of things then followed it to the on/off sw behind the fascia. Worked out that there are two or more screws hidden behind the fascia front but could not figure how to get this off to access them. Decided to pop it all back together and return later with (I hoped) an exploded diag from mediator.
Having reassembled everything switched on and the thing worked! Oh well I thought, just need to sort out the door switch and in the meantime she can use the emergency pull behind filter cover. Was just explaining this to her whilst allowing it to finish its spin. It finished, I pressed yellow and door opened perfectly 😀 .
Just in case I get a call back can someone tell me how to get at those hidden screws?

I get quite a few where if you just pop door open and reclose it works?
I think its when the customer did’nt fully close the door to engage interlock 😉
to get plastic fascia off use a thin screw driver or knife at the top edge push downwards and it pop out!! its held along the bottom channel by 3 spring clips Be carefull not to crack in half :rolls:

Yup, that’s why I stopped where I did! I did poke around gently with my thin stainless butter knife (one of the most useful tools I have) but needed some reassurance about where to insert. Thanks for that.
When the door is open, do you get a totally dead, no lights situation?
I didn’t mention that the customer had changed the fuse and that the machine had come on briefly after she did so. (Turned out to be a 3 amp :rolls: ).Mike.

She was really pleased that I’d been able to fix it. Think I might take half an hour to do the next open door I get and double the price 😆 .
