    Hi there

My washer/drier is broken, the LEDS for “easy iron” and “spin” flash, and now it won’t drain.

yesterday it did a load of washing fine, but when I started the tumble drier it filled with water.
Scarily it still got very hot in there and made loads of steam, but with a drum half full of water!

I *think* we may need a new pump? I can get one fitted for about £70 according to a local repair man, or I can buy my own for £35 and get my husband to have a go at it (he’s quite handy)

Does it sound like it the pump and if so how do we go about replacing it?

p.s. I have already unscrewed the pump and had a look inside, there was a penny in there but the problem still persists

    Thanks in advance

Re: Indesit WIDL126S error 2 &4, fills with water!

2+4 suggest pressure switch stuck on full, which as you may have discovered usually means its not emptying.

After unplugging the machine you should remove both hoses from the pump and check for obstructions. You should also check that there is no blockage in your undersink plumbing if it is connected to the sink waste outlet, blow down the grey plastic hose from the pump end to check this.

The pump impellor should flick round in quarter turns, it should not be loose from side to side.

If all that checks out then you may need a new pump, not the hardest job in the world.

Pump available HERE a bit less than £35.00. 😉

    Hi again

Thanks so much for your reply, sorry its taken me so long to answer, I didn’t mean to seem ungrateful.

My husband has now checked the hoses and removed the pump. The impellor seems to be very stiff… is this normal? It does just about turn in quarter turns though. I guess I will be needing to buy the new one? (from here :))

It should not spin freely but light finger pressure should be enough to flick it round each quarter turn.

It should not wiggle about from side to side.

oh no now I have a different error!

1, 2 and 4 this time, it happens when its set to tumble dry. It dries for a while then generally I get the flashing lights.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

F13…dryer NTC fault, could be loose or broken wiring to the NTC on top of the dryer heater box, faulty fan or blocked dryer box filter.

The NTC is the one that has a small white plug with two very thin wires going into it.

I didn’t realise there was a filter on it! Am I supposed to be cleaning it periodically?

No, its only accessible by stripping down the heater box.

I don’t have a condenser do I? I was under the impression that the steam made its way out of the waste pipe?

What am I supposed to be doing to try and fix this problem LOL do I take the top off or something else?

    Cheers
