Apparently one manufacturer insists that when you carry out a repair on their product then you warranty it for 90 days not your repair but the whole damn appliance!! 😡 If a fault occurs within 3 mths you then get recalled at your cost ! 😥
Alright if its once in a blue moon but Given the build quality of some of the lower end appliances this surely cant be tenable for much longer can it?
What about intermittent faults ?
Also when I carry out a repair I have always given 12 mths warranty parts and labour I am seriously re considering this due to the quality of some of the components in machines these daysRegards
DAFHow about here DAF? 😉
This is a whole topic unto itself!

A serious issue, I always work on the principal that if the machine develops a problem that is to do with the part that we have fixed then its down to us and if in another area its down to them.
As I remember DASA always had us guarantee our work for 12 months, but perhaps theres another issue for the top table, a difficult one baring in mind many appliances don’t last 12 months.January 6, 2004 at 5:14 pm #106569Martin

When you fix the hinge on the barn door you can’t guarantee the whole dam barn aint gonna fall down by mornin’….?
Stand your ground on the subject like they do in the motor trade. If they change your front disc pads they won’t guarantee the bl**dy gearbox will they?
Why should you think white goods has problem by using that philosophy?

KeymasterTo me recall implies that you did something wrong or incorrect, which I don’t object to at all if I have which I do, we all make mistakes.
What I don’t like is the way that it is sometimes potrayed that it’s my (or my engineer’s) fault that some totally different fault occured. A problem that is particularly relevant under warranty as the customer will almost always come away with the “it’s the same fault” line in the hope that it gets exchanged. 😕
