Participanthello, first post here and hoping to find some help, i have the above dishwasher that has seen very little use. Last time i used the machine it started to fill and then got stuck at about 20 minutes in. The machine simply kept filling and then the anti-flood would trip, filling would stop, a very clunky drain pump did its best and then it would fill again. I managed to get the machine to work with the door open and helped the machine to empty the water, once i did this the machine carried on until it needed the drain pump again….
So i recon its time for a new drain pump or is there something else that i am missing, stupid question maybe but thought i would ask first, and before you ask i can blow through the drain hose and get bubbles into the sump area so i dont think this is blocked.
any ideas would be great, thanks…

More likely the pressure chamber and it’s outlet hose are gunged up. LHS panel off and clean the pipework 😉
Incidentally, these little pumps often do clatter when they get a bit worn but still manage to do the job.

ok, i have taken off the LHS panel and removed the long length of hose so there is less for it to pump round, if you start the machine up it tries to empty the sump but the water only gets about half way up the plastic pipework that is on the side of the machine suggesting its not capable of pumping enough.
Should you be able to blow through the pipe work fairly easily as it isnt and takes a fair amount of puff, is there some kind of valve in the drain line?
thanks,,

Yes there is a one-way valve in there. Firstly bail out the water by hand, remove the pump cover inside (details in the handbook) and check for blockages/foreign objects such as pieces of broken glass or crockery chips etc.
Then strip and clean the pressure chamber until they look like THIS
Reassemble and test.
HTH?

found the little rubber valve just next to the pump fins, removed this and i can now blow through the hose no bother so no blockages in the line.
job tomorrow is strip down the pressure chambert you have suggested and see if that helps..
thanks for the help and will let you know how i get on tomorrow night

hello, i have taken apart the pressure chamber apart and all its hoses. Every part looked like new and there was no gunk in it at all or any blockages. I rebuild the machine and tried it.
When i start a program the machine fills as normal until the flood switch is activated and then tries to drain, you can see water being pumped up the tubing on the side of the machine but it seems to be struggling to do this, it will sit trying to drain for a good while before eventually managing it and then it just fills again until the switch trips and it all happens again, the pump that drains it doesnt sound healthy at all….
I tried emptying the sump with a glass and once i did this the machine started the washing cycle until it reached a point then stuck there, probably when it needed to drain again im guessing?
Have tried all programs and each one is the same..
Any other ideas as to the problem???

have now got it starting a wash cycle but its still hanging and have also noticed that the water inside the machine is cold. Think its time for the bin for my dishwasher!!!!

Sounds very much like a drain pump problem…would be worth an engineer visit with that machine, they are pretty decent and if a new pump sorts it then it may well work for a few years more.
Just one thing…make sure you put the flap back in to try it (one-way valve) or they seem to air-lock when trying to drain 😉
If you need an engineer then try the link below?

hello, the new problem is now the water in the machine is cold throughout the whole wash cycle?
Was also having a look at the machine when its running and there is a motor connected onto the instant water heater but it seems to be doing nothing, not once did this motor turn?
Just bought a new machine anyway but if i can fix this one i will
thanks for the help again…
