CREDA Simplicity T622CW condenser dryer, approximately 6 years old
Everything seems to correct, but the machine isn’t warming up. From searching through the posts I would suspect the thermostats. After removing the supply (greatest respect for electricity) how do I go about checking the thermostats. ❓Thanks in anticipation

Participanttake the rear panel off and check the stats (over heater) for continuity

Hi guys,
Been working away, so got around to fixing it this week. The heater stat was gone. New stats arrived from UK White Goods (green spot) on Thursday, fitted on Friday. The problem was fixed. However, the heat only lasted for two cycles, so back to cold operation by Saturday. There is good flow of air through the machine and a little water is taken out from the clothes so I’m assuming the air flow is going through the drum.
You can imagine the pressure I’m getting from herself to get it sorted. I’m going to take the back off again today and take a few measurements. Is there any other components I should examine – I can‘t locate the stat in the door? Is there anything I could have done incorrectly, or have I just been unlucky and got a dickey stat ?
Thanks in advance
George

Participantis this the model with the dryness module at the top?
if the drying light is on as soon as you turn the dryer on, the dryness module will be faulty
rather expensive too, and not uncommon

Checked that earlier, standard timer control on this one. 😉
You should check the new thermostats to see if the green spot one has gone O/C again.
If it has in such a short period of time than as twinspark suggests you may have a badly blocked condensor.
It could be a motor capacitor failing as well.

Okay guys
Couldn’t get around to it today things came up
Take it that just need to wash out the condenser – but I doesn’t look bad. Plently of air flow, but of course that doesn’t mean that its getting rid of the heat. just need to wash it through?
Re the capacitor – how do I check that (I don’t think its possible) and where is it situated.
Any ad-hoc checks or bridging things out can do before re ordering?
Thanks for the replies

Participantpersonally, id just change the capacitor, theyre pennies
its common for the motor to stop under load, and the cap not start the motpor on reverse
if thats the case, then (and only do this IF thers a fault proven) you can reset the faulty cut out by pushing a pin in the hole in the rear untill you hear a click)
top of , side panel off, right one if looking from front, and capacitor is next to motor
good kluck , and plug out!

Okay guys,
Thought I look around the dryer before taking it apart.
First tested the motor by operating with a loaded drum. Operated it for about 20 mins (10 drying and 10 cool down). Motor reversed several times without a hitch. So capacitor okay???????
Checked as much of the airflow passage as accessible – no blockages. Condenser a bit ‘fluffy’ but not blockages. Washed the condenser through with a hose (got the wet socks to prove it) So that would seem to be okay.
Took the back off – all passages are clear and back vents are also clear.
Stats – safety has continuity , heater (green spot )has gone open circuit.
Can’t think what the problem is – must have been a dickey stat.
Any further thoughts guys???????
Thanks for sticking with me
George
