Ikea Framtid Oven DOV8. Whirlpool?? ** UPDATED**

Hello,
can anyone here help by telling me anything about these ovens, link to Ikea page:-
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80156219.

I’ve googled and found a few references to Whirlpool/Frantid. Is this a Whirlpool oven badged as Frantid just for Ikea?

I’d dearly like to find a full detailed technical spec to give to a kitchen fitter but I can find no such thing on either the Ikea nor Whirlpool sites.

Don might be able to give you some more specific advice in the morning (He’s the retail Guru). It certainly looks like a Whirlpool double oven – easiest option might well be to have a rummage on the Whirlpool site – they will have a direct equivalent which you’ll be able to get the specs for.

I’ve had a good look around the whirlpool site and cannot see one that even looks the same.
I might have to pay a visit to Ikea to get the model number of product code.

I’d still be interested to know more about Framtid though.

Hi Andy14

The Framtid DV08 is a standard built in double oven, Width: 59.4 cm
Depth: 54.8 cm Height: 88.8 cm which will fit into a standard column carcass of your choice, usually these are connected via the 45A cooker point if available. An electrician will be able to advise accordingly or the fitters may have the relevant qualification to be able to advise and fit.

Whirlpool have a dedicated Ikea contact number 0207 6601517 who may be able to give you further advice and specification.

Thanks for the contact number, where did you find it? I will speak to Whirlpool as I would like to know more especially about the programming functions of the top and bottom oven.

I am in France and “conventional” double ovens as we know them in the UK do not really exist. This is the only model I found available here that is less than €1600 euros!! @ €695 vs £499 in UK is a bit expensive I know I could buy in the UK and import but the warranty/guarantee implications and spare parts availability are IMHO worth paying for.

The Whirlpool UK service number gives one of the options for Ikea products.

Aha as it is a mainland European appliance they may not be able to help. In that case try French no. 0892 700 150. I got that one from Whirlpool France website 😆

another question if I may. This existing single oven is off a 32amp circuit breaker in a consumer unit less than about 2.5 meters from the oven This ikea oven is rated at 0.79 KW. Do you really think 45amp is necessary?

0.79 KWH is the energy efficiency of one of the ovens per hour.

As it`s a double oven it will probably be around 5.5 KW total, French voltage is nearer 220 IIRC this would then equate to 25 Amps. So your 32A circuit is fine for the oven.

I’ve been sent from IKEA to Whirlpool and back again trying to find a manual for this oven so I went to an IKEA store an made a note of the numbers on the service plate:0
PNC 944171527
Type 91D3D30KD

I was looking at Electrolux ovens earlier and their EOD33003X bears a remarkable resemblance to the IKEA FRAMTOD DOV8/2 and this Electrolux model has a remarkable similar PNC number 944171438.

So I am beginning to believe that the this IKEA oven is infact an Electrolus and not a Whirlpool?

I’d be interested if anyone could confirm this.

Hi, I have been searching for info about this one too, and I think it is a Zanussi.
On this page: http://www.zanussi.co.uk/node63.aspx?categoryid=17
you will find several models with very similar number, 944 171 xxx but not 527. This may be a special number becaus it is being branded as IKEA.

thank you both for your help and input.

After much badgering of the IKEA support bods I eventually found out that the FRAMTID DOV8/2 actually IS made by Electrolux.
Via their Serviceforce ( http://www.serviceforce.co.uk/index.asp ) support website I emailed them for the manual for a PNC 944171527 even though this ref does not appear on their drop down selection. They speedily sent me the manual clearly marked IKEA Framtid etc.

Very odd this as the IKEA/Zanussi partnership is well documented on the web but I’ve found no mention of Electrolux supplying IKEA.

Thanks again, maybe this post may help others in the future too.
