All the UK fridgeration came from Spain as did all there Hobs, a lot of dishwashers also came with same spec as Balay brand rebadged Bosch in the UK.
In fact most of the Bosch Group products apart from Washers came from Spain.

Not quite true Lee8 – A lot of the Bosch products come from all over the EU – not mainly Spain . In fact , more are made in Poland i believeOctober 27, 2009 at 11:32 pm #300504iadom

And getting as crap as everything else year by year :rolls: its ironic that competition is seen as the friend of the buying public, yet it just seems to be forcing manufacturers to arrive at the same conclusion. i.e, most people buy on price & dont seem overly bothered about chucking stuff out very early in its life.
When its a matter of a company surviving or going to the wall, who can blame them for joining all the other pond life in the mass white goods market. 😯

When customers ask me what they should get to follow their BER, I tell them I can’t help much except to give a rather long list (and getting longer) of what NOT to buy. If they really put pressure on me after that I suggest they go round the shed gradually climbing the price scale until they find one with a label that says unequivocally, “Made in Germany”. I almost never go and look myself, have neither time nor inclination. So am I giving the right advice? :duck:

Please don’t insult pond life by comparing it with white goods manufacturers. It performs a useful function in nature and I happen to like it.

Always go by the label, the made in …….. is always correct, there is no way that can be wrong. 😉

It is Lee, often very long and part of an EU investigation due to designer goods that were claimed to be made in Italy but actually made in China. IIRC, it was Gucci that was in the spotlight for it.
Basically the label only shows where the last major process takes place.
The bits can come from anywhere.
