ParticipantThe Developer specified an AEG ESL63010 for our off plan home we are purchasing. I can’t find this in AEG’s brochure or on their website. but it is available on various websites.
Just wondering, is this a special version which is not available to the general public – is it ok? its db seems pretty noisy
Where could I find a complete list of ESL dishwashers?

For AEG think Zanussi, for integrated dishwashers go for higher spec Bosch/Neff/Siemens or Miele if the budget will allow.
You are footing the bill not the developer, put your foot down and insist they fit what you want, not what they may be getting a back hander for. 😉

well, the one they are specifying is £650 and the one I think we want is worth £850 – is that not a good enough?

All AEG appliances are Zanussi under the skin. For that price you could get a Siemens or even a Miele which are usually better quality with longer warranties as well.
I am assuming these will be integrated appliances?
Hang on until the morning and our resident ‘ new appliance guru’ Don may give you a definitive answer. 😉

You either go for high spec Italian or high spec German, I know what I would chose. 😉

so are you saying AEG is not all that great then. even at £850 for a AEG dishwasher its not good? I guess I have always known that German is better than Italian for Quality…

Hi
As iadom says the Aeg is a Zanussi in disguise , for that sort of budget there are some excellent machines out there which I for one would prefer.
The manufacturers to take a look at IMO are Neff, Siemens ( the same stable) and Miele.
These two machines from Neff sit at the top of the range and offer features to cover all aspects and situations S52M69X1 and the S51T69X1 they come with a two year warranty and a good service backup.
The Siemens SN26T252 is tne next stage on from the Neff and will come with a ful five year warranty.
Then there is the Miele G1173vi and the G1182scvi with the cutlery tray in the roof of the machine which frees up the bottom basket space, these will come with a two year warranty. If I were buying I would go with the Siemens first then the Neff and the Miele last.

Just remember that the dB scale is logarythmic and that half the volume of quiet is still quiet 😉November 2, 2009 at 8:52 pm #302195kwatt

Don’t get too hung up on the db or noise level ratings as they are next to useless when used comparatively. 😉

In case the count doesnt spot it the siemens is a freestanding integrated style dishwasher. rather than a fully integrated model. it basically means you cant have a front unit panel fitted to it like the aeg that has been suggested to you by your developer. personally i like the siemens, but they no longer have their integrated models included in the 5yr p&l guarantee promotion, meaning they are only covered by a 2yr warranty. so if you were to go fully int, rahter than freestanding pick the neff or bosh equivalents, marginally cheaper but mechanically similar.
or buy an end of line siemens se65t390 ive sold 4 so far in the last 5 months and every customer has been over the moon with its performance. 3 of which were replacing ancient neff/bosch models… original srp is 700+ but your local independant (and if your near to surrey then that will be me) should be able to source one for about 25-30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} less than that if its boxed 😉

and iirc the 39dB is only on the “night wash” cycle, its about 42 or 44dB on a standard wash programme… which is still 4x-8x times quieter than a hotpoint LFT 114!!
