Hi, we have had this dishwasher for around 5 years with no problems till now. When switched on, on the 70 degree heat setting, door closed, starts to fill, after a few minutes it switches to the pre rinse cycle, start button flashes 4 times, pause, 4 times(keeps repeating in this pattern) and continously beeps. Machine stops working. Can anyone Help? Thank You.

    Once again………..

Four flashes is no drain detected in the time allowed.

1/ If the machine doesn’t drain, you will have a blockage or a drain pump failure.
2/ More likely, the water level indicator is full of congealed fat. THIS is sitting in the sump under the filters. Very hot water and an old toothbrush might just scrub it clean; failing that, it’s a twist fit from underneath if you need to get serious with it. Light action microswitch is prone to failure as well – the spring gives up; in which case buy the unit in the link above.

    “Search” is a wonderful thing.

Power off if you need to remove the part.

Most likely it’s water control system is blocked….take out the base filter and have a careful look in the 3 o’clock position, you will see a black grid. This needs cleaning but beware there is a rubber diaphragm immediately behind so don’t use anything sharper than your elbow to clean the holes.

A kettle of hot water and a toothbrush usually works though if it’s really stubborn it will need taking out and disassembling to clean (twist fit from underneath). Plug out at all times if you need to strip it out :zap:
