    From power on, green light comes on for three to four hours, then it starts to flash alternately with the amber light ie one is on when the other is off then vice versa. Nothing useful in the user guide.

    Anything that is placed in the freezer already frozen seems to retain that state however fresh food only shows some indication of freezing after about 24 hours. Fan does not appear to be in operation but as this is my mother’s freezer (50 miles away) I am not sure if and when it should come on. If unit is powered off then on again, the whole cycle repeats from the top.

    I am a competent DIYer including electrics, but have no knowledge of Fridge Freezers.

    Hi.

    This usually is an indication that the control board cannot sense the presence of the defrost heater. It could be a duff board, heater or wiring between the two. The fan will usually cease to run when the door is opened.

    Any chance of having the product number?

    Thanks Spindoctor, Mum has had a look but cannot see any product number by opening the doors. She will try and find the original paperwork just in case it’s on there.
    If you can give me a clue as to where to find it, I will see if a neighbour can find it, but bear in mind it’s built in.

    Ok here it is 925771720.

    Despite her age, (80) my mum still does pretty well. She went back and had another look and found it herself.
