ParticipantHey guys!!
I have changed the drum and rear tub for this washer as the bearings etc were going. But now the pulley will not tighten enough as the drum shaft sticks out too much so the washer for the pulley nut does not fit flush on shaft and bearing casing. Is this a known issue? Connect say the original drum was obsolete and the alternative is part number 5031685303341. Any ideas please???

Excellent! Cheers Bob. Does the washer go behind the pulley or infront of it?

I had this happen to me too a while back. I got round it on the day by winding some thick wire round the space to pack out the gap (which was caused by the new spider having a longer square section than the old one). I took home the old spider so I could make up a square holed washer to fit the gap. That was a rather laborious job so I put it off 😳 . Then after about six months she rang to say the washer’s not spinning now after making some noise. So I got on and made the washer up and went back and put it right. Wish I’d known about the lg spacer at that time. Would have saved me about an hour getting that washer just right.

Thanks guys!! Just a quick one now tho … please can you reassure me this is the washer that will fit around the shaft (with a bigger hole) and not the original washer on the appliance. Cheers. Minge

What model is your machine? Is the pulley a sheet metal one with a square hole with rounded corners, like mine was? Have you tried mediator? I see a lot of alternatives come up when you put in LG washer to the search box.
