    Hi,

    851163415810.

I am assuming the fault code for 7 flashes pertains to this machine and
    indicates a `flow meter failure`.

Do I take this as read or can it be another problem giving similar
indication – like the module (checked and no obvious signs of damage).

The machine partially fills then goes into fault mode.

Have checked the pressure switch in the sump. Have operated the main
motor. Pump empties and there is a circuit through the heater. Can the
`feeler NTC` cause this problem – the small pillar that sticks up in the
    bottom of the sump.

So does the flow meter fail?

I see it comes as part of the dosage tank 🙁

    Thanks in advance.

    Oxidisation on contact pads/bad connection.
    Reed switch failure.
Possible pcb fault, but never seen it myself.

    Thanks Chris.

An expensive trial and error repair – if they go ahead.

Hi Lawrence: Have you checked the output from the flow meter to the control PCB to see if theere is an on / off pulse there? May save you having to replace parts.

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for responding.

I have no paperwork on this type of machine and very little experience on
them. Could you give a little more detail on how to go about this.

    Thanks.

    Hi Laurence

Almost every one i’ve been to with this fault have the poor connections on the flow meter.

The flow meter is built into the water matrix on the LHS, it has a tiny pcb on it (no electronics just a means of attaching it’s three wires). You simply need to disconnect the plug off the edge of the board, clean the track edges with something like a pencil rubber or very fine emery, squeeze the connector plug a little to ensure a good contact grip then reconnect. It takes longer to take the side panel off than to effect the repair 😉

    HTH?

    Re: W/Pool D/W ADG6340MVA 7 Flashes – Does It Really Mean…

Hi Lawrence: The Flowmeter has 3 connections to it: 1 is a 5v DC supply, the second is the ground connection which is normally in the centre.
The 3rd wire is the square wave output to the PCB which counts the pulses to determine how much water is being taken in, you can monitor this with a good multimeter when the machine is filling & for a working unit should see a regular pulse from 0v to 5v & then back to 0v.
It’s easier to monitor with a good Analogue meter, but a Digital with Bargraph does the job pretty well.

    Hope that helps: Andy 8)

Wpl flow meter is a passive device – only two wires.

    Hi,

    Chris you pointed the way.

Did as you described Clive (2 wires by the way) and yippee it solved the problem.

So to everyone taking the trouble to respond – you have my thanks, I really appreciate you for making the effort.
