I have spent many hours trying to fix a problem on my Bosch dishwasher. I had a control board in and the machine worked fine other than it didn’t wash hot – the dreaded Bosch heater problem.

Got a replacement board which fixed the heater problem, but doesn’t drain on start up, between cycles, or at the end of the final rinse. It does drain during cold water fills though. It also drains if the float switch is manually activated. It doesn’t drain on the reset button, just stops.

Had the original board repaired (new PCB) and that drains but never leaves the initial drain cycle. I can hear a clicking every 20-30 seconds, but it just carries on trying to drain. On reset, it just carries on draining and doesn’t stop.

The board suppliers reckon that the repaired board tests fine on their rig (they’ve had it twice now).

I’ve had the side off and checked float switch mechanism (down), and I’ve put cleaners through to see if there’s any muck in the way (clearly that might not work but it’s been tried).

I strongly suspect that there’s something wrong with both boards, but I would appreciate any advice on whether there could be any other sensor that could have failed?

How does the draining control work on start up? Is it timed or driven by a level? What about between and after cycles? Any ideas as to why the machine is draining when during each filling stage?

    😕

These boards certainly suffered from dry joints on the heater relay and could be soldered back up again but occasionally the joints would let go in a big enough way to damage the rest of the board rendering it useless.

The machine itself is fairly basic so if you can establish that the pipework is clear and that there are no earth faults then my money would be on the pcb i’m afraid :con:

Power off at all times while investigating :zap:
