PNC – 914 602 300 00
S/n – 725 00 115Been out to one of these yesterday. Fault is that it wont start. Its not an old machine at all, perhaps about 2 years or so..
I have tried a door lock on it (the old one looked a bit scortched on the tags and at the back).
In the past I have repaired electrolux style machines (with the square module on the r/h side) by fitting door lock and PCB as I know the door lock tends to blow the pcb. This machine has a different type of PCB and one is available configoured. I think im barking up the right tree but not entirely sure as its a new control module to me.
Anyone been here before please?
Many thanks,

Certainly sounds like lock + module problem. Is it an EWM1000 behind the fascia module? Then whip it out and look for visible damage around the edge near the selector switch. Test any resistors and uf’s in that area.
Also have a peek under to see if there’s condensation on the plastic brush holders.

I didnt have the time to un-build it and drag it all out Mike. Its 20 storys up in a luxury rented appt in the city center of Leeds and the letting agent was house sitting with me while clock watching… Grrrrrrrrr
I had a better look at it on the TDS disk and it looks like its one of the controll panel PCBs on the disk. The TDS disk also states that the un-configoured pcb is unable to be setup without the relevent software/hardware.. Fantastic, thanks for that electrolux..
I might just take the risk and order up PCB an interlock.. bit worried about it, but i suppose sometimes you just have to take the plunge… To be honnest, I think I would rather not get involved in this, but the luxury development where this machine sits is part of a few thousand and my good reputation is getting propergated between its various letting agents so I want to be sucessfull. I have suggested I might have to put one of my loan machine’s in place if things become complicated..November 13, 2009 at 12:55 am #303567leavemetogetonwithit

It’s worth looking on the electrolux.co.uk site to see if there’s a configured pcb available. Probably more up to date than TDS and likely no more expensive than connect.

can you get into the diagnostic system to read any fault codes. I’ve had this and its turned out to be the small dryer board behind the main pcb on the righthand side.

Hi.
Have you got into diagnostic? If so, did you find the fault code as “Ed4”. This is 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain to be a low insulation dry heater.

Doh! Forgot about that one! Low insulation (even 20 megohm) dryer heater can cause this. Saw one like it a couple of weeks ago. Worth trying by disconnecting it whatever it measures. I’d try that even before bothering with diagnostics.
