    Hi
    I have a Hoover VisionHD 8142
    No matter what program I select the machine does the same thing, it fills with water and then tries to go into a high spin speed and stops after a about 3-4 seconds, it then pauses for a long time and tries to spin again and stops after 3-4 seconds. After another long pause the 1200 spin light and Timer Saver lights are flashing, they both flash together 8 times before pausing and then flashing 8 times again and so on.

    The machine is about 2 years old and this is it’s first fault.

    I read on another forum this indicates the heater element is faulty but I’ve tested that and it’s not open circuit.

    I’m quite a competent electronics engineer and have the gear to test components etc

    I’ve searched for errors for this model and so far drawn a blank.

    Can anyone shed any light on this please.

    I have a similar fault on a HNL 6146 model. I’m guessing it is the main PCB but will wait for replies regarding this from others before I send for a new one.

    check the tacho/ tacho wires on the motor

    failing that it will be a pcb problem

    oh, or the tacho has fallen off the rear of the motor
    defoo a tacho issue

    Just checked the Tacho and it had unscrewed itself. Once screwed back in everything is working as it should.

    You were exactly right, I took the bottom off the washer and instantly found the tacho rotor and could clearly see the sensor hanging from it’s wires.

    Nice one saved me wasting 70 quid on a controller 🙂

    I had the same problem with my washing machine and solved it by following these instructions.
