hi there. i have just fitted the above hob and wired to one of the wiring layouts on the back. the one with the black out line. when i switch the rings on they will come on then switch off. i can do this on all the hot plates so its not tripping just switching the rings off. i have also tried wiring the other two ways on the back but nothing happens. i have also shown the suggested wiring to a sparkie mate of mine who said its right but still the problem..
wiring is, live to 1,2, or 3 and links in the neutral between 4 and 5.. please help …cheers

It’s supposed to “cycle” the plates….. otherwise everything would just boil over.

I am assuming it is wired to the standard 3 wire, 230 volt uk supply. If it is then you would also need links to go in the live side also. Live to 1, then links from 1-2 and 2-3 (neutral into 4, then link from 4 to 5). As far as I know, without the links you will not get power to all rings.

POWER OFF BEFORE PLAYING WITH THE SUPPLY 😀

He’s got power to the plates. They will only function properly with a loaded saucepan on top – even then, they will still cycle.
