Called to look at this FF, Couple had just moved and they tried to change door hand from right to left, But could not do it because of insufficient parts so put back in original position ie right hand hinge.

Now fridge does not cool (circulation fan does not run)and has interior light flashing constantly. Which I think it does if door is left open. I take it that the light/fan switch toggles between open and close, is this magnetic switch? as no obvious mechanical switch around door. Its possible that fitting door back it missaligned switch so it acts as though door is open all time. But where is it located. Not come across this particular Hotpoint FF before.

customer told me that husband left power on to FF while he tried to turn door so it was running, “door open” for a while.

Freezer runs ok at about -20c

There is a magnet in the door to operate a reed switch, wich switches the light etc i suspect they may have lost it when they tried to change the door over. jj

Thanks jj for that info will go back and look again at door. . But having never come across this model before was not sure what type of switching was looking for.
