Hello there, im looking at getting a gas range cooker.

Im just wondering with the dual fuel cookers out there, does the electric oven require a 13 amp cabling or is the same type of wiring as electric hobs?

Also i dont suppose you could reccomend and range cookers for around 6-800 pounds? i have seen a few unknown brands(to me anyway) like lofra scandinavia baumatic etc, are these any good as they are very cheap.

    Cheers for any help

Most range cookers require a 30A supply, especially if it’s a double oven, 13A won’t cut it.

The Lofra ones seem ok, but bear in mind that they’re half the price of most of the competition and you get what you pay for to a large extent. 😉

The others I have no experience of, sorry.

I would strongly recommend leisure cookers, they are a little more expensive, not that much better than the rest as thier all much of a muchness but should the appliance require a repair at least you won’t have to wait for ever to get hold of spares.

whatever you get, the fan element(s) will go in about 18months – 2 years.
Stick with gas if you want something reliable.

Hi guys cheers for the response,i have actually found a double oven leisure for £700 odd, i had a look at the manual and it says it can be wired to a 13 amp socket, so it sounds like i have found my cooker!

Oh and theres a zanussi fr around £600, have you any experience of the 900x model?

I would strongly advice you to have the 13amp outlet visable/accecable, and possibly be prepared to recieve some flack when the fuse blows on the use of both ovens or oven and grill at the same time.
Though Leisure say it can be on 13amp supply I would not recommend it.
