ParticipantHi All,
I recently moved into a new flat and there is a built in oven. Unfortunately the main knob to change the temperature was not present, I have no idea how to go about ordering a new one and the only information on the oven is ‘Select 610 by diplomat’ please can anyone help?
The top of the oven has the normal 4 hobs and the 4 dials to control the temperatures of these. The front of the cooker has the temperature dial on the left hand side and the right hand side has a clock and timer.
I have taken pictures of the oven to help identify it as I cannot find any other markings on it, but don’t think i’m able to post them on here?
Many Thanks
Kate

Hi Kate,
Diplomat 610 isn’t a model number, it’s a series of cooking appliances.
The most common control knobs for that range of Diplomat are probably these ones
Most of the common oven knobs are here but without the actual model number it can be difficult, if indeed not possible, to track them down.

also unless you can find the model number on the manual, you will probably have to get the oven slid out of the housing, as i havent come across a diplomat where theres one in the door recess (might just be my bad luck tho). good news is theres usually a label slapped on each side and the top, so you shouldnt need to pull it out too far. scribble all the number down if its not obvious which ones are the model and serial no.!
isolate electricity to the oven first (should have a cooker switch on the wall) and have at least one extra pair of hands who are reasonably strong and no back problems to aid you 😀

The model numbers on the manuals are useless gandh, they cover a range as well and are not specific to the appliance that the manual came with. Most are like that now and therefore, next to useless for anything onther than working out how to use and, even then, they can be a challenge.

Hi, thanks for your replies, sorry it’s taken me so long to check this. I have no way of finding out the model number as I wouldn’t know where to start with taking out the oven and I can’t find any details inside the oven. I have ordered the most common type of knob as suggested and I am just keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks again
