I dont’ like fridge/freezers and i really hate side by side however this belongs to a friend so i had a look, here are the symptoms: cold at the bottom of fridge and after about a week the whole unit stops and he has to unplug/plug it to get it working, there’s a error code off 3, i looked at the link that’s on here regarding these machines and the codes are done by flashing lines however this machine showed the number 3, besides that the only fault i could find was the Thermal fuse appears to be dead (no reading at all) and the coils were heavily frosted up.
Am i correct in thinking that if the Thermal fuse is dead then the heater coils won’t work causing the evaporator coils to frost up which in turn could make the machine have the hump?

    Many thanks Thanks

Thermal fuse protects the appliance from over heat.

If its OC you have another fault within the heater circuit, changing the fuse may make it heat until it overheats again.

Mods were fitted around the 2007-08 period that included new sensor and cover with clip to act as heat deflector onto vent channel in the cover.

In the hope it would cure the issue, some may have been missed or its just a component failure.
