ParticipantBefore the wife buys a new washing machine!
Indesit Wg1234 T, leaky seal at front door. Underneath, where there is a drain pipe to the motor. I cant really see the hole, it may be coming from the join with the pipe.
How easy is it to replace the drum/door seal…..?
Time is running out for this WM as the washing pile is getting bigger, its 10 years old and done good service all the mechanics are good…pity about the sealNovember 23, 2009 at 11:25 pm #304675iadom

Put it this way, if you replace the seal on this machine it will more than likely last longer than a new Indesit. 😉
Seal is not that difficult to replace on these.

Having read that Indesit – Aint what they used to be…….
Ive had a look at the seal and yes there is a little wear hole in the rubber, next to the drain pipe 🙁 🙁 🙁I have pulled off the old seal now, is there any way that I can remove or loosen the concrete block that is on the front of the drum to make life easier when I fit the metal strap (or band)??? there is not much room between the edge of the block and the seal…. IS it one of those pain in the a** jobs???
I have loosend these bolts to see if I can remove it the block but have given up up on it tonight as I need to go to bed now…. Im going to be brave and order a seal tomorrow (I think?!)
Michael
Any help greatfully welcome! 😉

Door seal should be THIS ONE.
Leaning the machine back gives you more room to get your fingers in; trying to remove the concrete block is an exercise in futility.

Thanks for that, Order being sent…. 😀
Good thing I gave up on the concrete block up when I did then 😯
I take it that I have not unsealed the drum by undo-ing the nuts that hold the block on then? 😕

Just fasten them up nice and tight. Seal refitting is just a matter of very strong fingers and bags of patience, doing the first one is the worst. 😀
