How can i tell if this fridge freezer has had the fan housing modification? What is the difference between the old and new housing?
The customer has just bought the house with this fridge included. Had problem with warm fridge and when i checked it out just the fan was frosted up, the rest of the evaporator was ok. Heater thermal cut out and sensor were ok and looked as though they had been replaced as the pull ties used were not original. The fan housing cover looked very new and the foam seal around the edge was perfectly intact even though there was evidence of an old foam seal stuck to the fridge near the evaporator.
Ive only seen the original cover on these and although this cover looked the same the only difference i noticed was a piece of ally plate going up into the small hole to the fan.Thanks

That is the new style fan casing. There should also be a small curved metal plate clipped to the evaporator heater which will touch the ally strip you mentioned and transfer heat to keep the fan drain hole defrosted.

That metal piece you mention is missing, i know the piece you mean because it came with a new evaporator and heater i bought before for one of these. I dont suppose they are available seperatly. Ill have to try and make something.Thanks
