This machine has no motor action. Brushes ok and when i meter the motor all the readings seem right. When i put it on spin i had 230v to the brushes and power to the field coil. Its got to be a duff motor hasn’t it?

There’s a TOC embedded in line with the brushes (I think…), so continuity test should tell you.

Thing is was there 230 present or 230 AND 0? In other words, a neutral.
Most, maybe all (?), modules control motor voltage from the neutral side.

    Hi Mike

When i tested for the voltage to the brushes i did this by just removing the leads to each brush and connecting my volt meter leads to each lead giving me 230v. Could it be the module then?

    Thanks

If you connected one lead to one brush terminal and the other lead to the other then you’ve proved the armature is getting 230v.
This suggests that there is at least one neutral present and that the timer/module is probably OK, but not certainly so.
If you suspect the motor but it checks out OK on meter, you could test it using a flying lead and a connecting wire or two. There have been several threads on how to do this. Use search and “testing motors”, tick search for all terms.
From another angle, have you looked at the module? Any visible burning or dry joints?
    Mike.
