ParticipantMy Bosh classixx SGS43C02GB/35 is not washing properly and the upper spray arm is not turning. There is plenty of water and it is coming out of the bottom arm with plenty of force so it is likely to be the distributor valve stuck supplying the bottom only. It looks to me as though you have to take the whole drum off the base to access this area.
Is this so? Does anyone have any advice on accessing/ replacing this bit?

first thing is to check if spray arm is getting water to it, and if it is, whether its blocked!!!
all too common is that its just been gunked up with sweetcorn/baked bean shells, plastic/foil wrap or rice…

The first thing i checked was that the pipe leading to the upper arm and the arm were absolutely clear. It is definitely the distributor valve in the heater box. How do i get it out?

Hi Ian,
You’ve probably fixed this by now, but just in case you haven’t I’ve just been through the same exercise with our Neff S5543X2GB/44. Sometimes the upper arm would work, then the bottom one, then neither!
You have to get the plastic base off then you can get to the sump and heater unit. I won’t go into detail as it’s against forum rules, but it’s a good couple of hours work – well it was for a novice like me!
Our fault was the spindle on the cog that spins the circular diverter disc had rounded off, it would turn part of the way, hence the erratic behaviour. Unfortunately, you can’t get just the diverter parts, you have to buy the whole heater unit – about £73 from Neff/Bosch.

Thank you for that. You have confirmed my worst fears. I have not fixed it yet because i am escaping the English winter but i will get right onto it in March.
