    Hi all!
I have a Diplomat HJA2170 stainless steel extractor and a couple of days ago it just refused to turn on. I’ve had a look through this forum (great site btw), checked the fusebox (all OK) and now I’m a little stumped 🙁

I read on the forum that it could be the switch unit and that the plug above the hood should have either a 5 or 3 amp fuse and not a 13. The plug does have a 13 amp in but the lights on the hood still work???

Could it be the motor? The schematic on the hood shows a ‘terminal trip’ between the switch and the motor / lights but I’m not sure what this looks like??

Any help would be greatly appricieated.

More than likely the motor is faulty, part number 0010900258 available from AW Services, switch off or pull the plug first, the only real way to check is to test componants with a test meter, another appliance made in China I’m afraid 🙁

Cheers Jonah, I found AW a couple of days ago and have ordered the motor, PCB and switch panel (was suprised at how reasonably they were priced)

The extractor has a plug above it, am I right in thinking I only need to unplug this and I’ll be safe?

Yes if it is the plug for the extractor, double check extractor is fully disconnected before you start taking it apart, plus you will need a soldering iron for the connections on the motor 😯
