When you select any programme on this machine the programme time comes up on display and the start pause button flashes but when you press start the door doesnt lock and nothing happens. Fitted new interlock, selected programme (spin) pressed start, door locked and machine started to pump out, after about 5-10 seconds it stopped. Door then unlocked and now its doing the same again, door wont lock and machine wont start. Control board looks ok on inspection. Didnt have another interlock to try.

    Any ideas?

Possibly worn carbons……or PCB if the original interlock has shorted…. 🙁

When Simon says “low” insulation on dryer element he doesn’t mean 1 megohm. 20M will be low enough. Just disconnect the element anyway and see what happens. And if it’s in a damp place check for condensation on motor brush holders which will also stop machine starting.
