Just had a phone call from one of my daughters mates. Hoover Nextra 1400 W/D.
She says that it is almost impossible to set the machine to any programme. Whatever the selection is set to, the light for 15 minutes illuminates. She can get it to wash but it can take 10 or more attempts to get it to lock onto a full wash cycle.
Not seen one do this, is it likely to be the rotary switch or the main PCB?

I’ve never had the programme selection this difficult to attain but have changed a few selectors for very intermittant programme / drying selection issues.
I would certainly punt for the selector rather than the module.

Thanks Tim, I do actually carry one of those timers so its worth sticking one in and keeping my fingers crossed.

My programme selector is clicking round too fast and the error code reads: –
He’d been to the School of My Dad Always Says,the College of It Stands to Reason,and was now a postgraduate student at the University of What Some Bloke In the Pub Told Me.’
Honest to god I can’t figure out what that means Jim….Can you help! 😕

Thanks for that Jim, I could never figure out Terry Pratchett’s novels or what he’s on about within them. Still to this day it’s gibberish to me and in consequence will remain in a state of blissful ignorance as to what your signature is trying to tell us all?
Perhaps I just need a new selector switch so as my programme will complete in the time required? 😉

I have a Nextra HNL 662 which is giving almost the same symptoms. When any programme is started the 15 minute light flashes and the pump starts. I can get it to start on the time saving programmes more quickly if i press each of the buttons in turn and then press them to cancel. The machine will then start and complete the cycle normally! :con:

In the case in point it did cure the fault, have done several of these switches for similar faults, there are two different ones dependent on number of programmes but they are quite cheap so if all else fails well worth a punt.
