ParticipantHad a problem with one of these beasts today. I thought “I will give Merloni a bell for advice!”
Their ‘Advice line’ sadly very predictable….”Sorry we cannot give you any advice other than to suggest you call out one of OUR engineers!”
Thanks Merloni but no thanks!

Just to cheer you up – remember that there are two modules and two eeproms fitted to this machine. Are you getting any error codes in the display??

I am convinced the module is the culprit but I don’t do guesswork for a living. But I guess I may have to in this case?

Martin, I will email Merloni today to ask if they supply manuals for this range of Indesit washers, I checked the Merloni/GDA DVD and they don’t list them, even though most of the Hotpoint models have service manuals listed on there 😕
I’ll post back here any reply(ies)
I don’t want any of you’re profit though, maybe a pint at the UKW meet 😉

I called back on this job for a closer look only to discover the module connector block was the problem. Just a quick scrape of the pcb and twaeked the connector pins and away it went.

Good news then Martin 😀 And an excellent tip.
Don’t worry about the pint though, I got a reply from Merloni ref the manuals a few minutes before you posted this……
Dave.
No manuals for Indesit models are available. That’s most helpfull to us and Merloni’s customers isn’t it. 😈

Martin – I agree there is only one module per machine but there is two types of module with eeproms together with a seperate control panel PCB with its own eeprom. Which type is yours ie universal module with fixed eeprom together with display module and seperate eeprom or standard module with seperate eeprom and display module?

The motor did wash ok but on spin just hummed, simply because of a bad module terminal connection to the relay that switches to spin I guess?

OK, I stand corrected on this one, I would have (did infact) go for the motor. As to information on Merloni stuff, the guy I used to work for is a wizard on it. I still phone him for advice despite the fact Merloni pulled the plug on him when they took on Hotpoint Engineers.
