ParticipantGot an eight flash error on this machine.
(Heater relay according to error codes.)
The machine fills for a while then errors. I am assuming board unless there are any other culprits like pressure switch, blah, blah.
EMW show 3 boards for that model, so can the correct board be sourced by serial number?
serial: 305091317
Thanks.

Had this fault today on an Indesit with a Mk I board in it. Machine filled then the timer rotated and the ‘On’ lamp went out. Tightened all the edge connectors and off it went – all OK. 😀
Try that first…..

Looks like at least two have been replaced by C00143372, bound to be a smart card/reader job. 😥
Three different models of W123 as well…123UK..123 (BG) M (metal drum) & W123UK (BG) P (plastic drum)
All of the things you mentioned, pressure switch, wiring, ntc, etc, etc.
Personally I have stopped doing 8 flash jobs, call back rate is too high and the Le Mans start I used to get to the end of the street before it broke down again didn’t go down that well either. :rolls:

There are so many possible causes of this fault. I find it best to get a board from EMW after doing ten minutes of checking of the obvious. (Blow into p/sw, blow down p/sw tubing to check not blocked, quick check ntc resistance (25k ish at room temp IIRC), ntc connector, htr continuity, motor plug tight and pull on wires to see none are loose, check armature clean, i.e. brushes not down, filter not blocked, alright twenty minutes, remove module and mark connections with felt pen so you get it back right, examine closely for burns/ dry joints, alright thirty minutes 👿 )
Determine from emw site info which module req, ring up and get one sent out, miss postie and have to collect from sorting office, return to job and refit. Pray like mad and switch on (after doing all safety checks 😉 ).
90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} work, 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} you’ve still got F8 👿 👿 and there is absolutely no way to crack it 😡 😡 . Oh and before you even begin you have to persuade the customer that it’s worth trying to fix it and it’s gonna cost quite a bit .
Actually these days I spend ten to twenty minutes on the phone when a job like this pops up explaining the difficulies involved and then having to explain why a) I don’t sell re-cons b) about how it’s a minefield out there choosing your new machine and why I can only give a list of what to avoid, probably.

Personally I don’t have an issue with these boards as long as EMW can provide them coded. I will only fit a recon board to Indesit derived stuff as you are backed by EMW’s warranty and ‘try before you buy’ service. Total job quote = £120 inc labour; 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of customers and letting agents say go ahead.
TBH, the failure rate of EMW boards and timers is negligible…I can only recall 1 WMA board that failed this year. Not bad at all. 😀Steve.

Don’t have a problem with WMA boards but certains ones are only a few ££s more from Masterpart brand new anyway.
The Indesit boards are the ones I have issues with, they are so unreliable from new and an F8 fault finished up costing me money half the time. :rolls:

Cheers for response.
I had already phoned customer last night. Quoted £132.25 to be precise. He’s going for it, so I will pop back and get Mk of board.
I normally would have ‘barge poled’ this one but machine is only two washes a week. I did do the normal checks so will hope the board does the trick.
In for a penny!

Sweet cheeses that’s one hell of a brave man we have here in Tim, for sure…..£132.25’s worth of headache pills would have more effect.

Me too brother & I will say a prayer to the sweet Virgin Mary on your behalf whilst at confession tonight at the Holy Mother of Jesus Church in Balliscilly, so I will!
Just out of interest….Tesco sell a brand new equivalent machine on-line ( and in stock) for just £209. Scary or what? 😯

these machines are a pain to many problems, just been to hotpoint wd420 went through the usuall checks as mentioned above, ordered recon board fitted board same problem, after further investigation and lots of expletives under my breath found broken wire from the ntc where it is secured to the harness at the base of the machine, never had this before so maybe one to look out for in the future. so now is the time to start doing continuity checks on these wonderfull machines, maybe i should have thought of that in the first place. 😯

Thanks Martin.
I actually told him he could get an equivalent machine for around £200.
But sometimes they can’t be told.
He would have paid £20 for my time plus delivery and connection on the new one, that would have made at least £100 difference from repair to new.
I don’t know what he earns but they may have been half a weeks take-home. ❓
