Stopped with start light flashing, diagnostics throws up E51. Motor triac short circuit.
Due to the thoughful kitchen fitters I can’t get the machine out until they return to remove the laminated floor. :rolls:
Is this likely to be just the PCB that has failed or will something on the motor have taken it out. ❓
Jim.

E51 could be the PCB, Jim; but more likely the motor or wiring is shorting to earth. The “motor triac is in short circuit” is generally a motor failure TBH.

Had E54 today on 4 y o Bendix. Took nearly half an hour with the 2kW hair dryer directed at the motor to sort it out.

Went back today, although the motor looks perfect and the brushes are hardly worn the field coil has a dead short to earth.
Says its to expensive to continue. 😥

With motor being £168 odd incl vat 😯 trade from Connect, I think I’d agree. Had a Beko with same problem this week, they gave me the go-ahead for new motor at £110 RRP 😯 . I had a quick look and found a secondhand one on e-bay which was lucky. It’s on its way. (There was even a place in London selling “reconditioned” Beko motors, same part, for £34 incl post!)

I guess they thought, “As we’ve got to have the laminated floor removed every time to get it out (£££) we might as well have a new one to lessen the likelihood of it having to come out again soon.” 😆
