When you start a prog. small lines move round the display. Normally they stop and the prog. selects ok.
Now these lines just keep on going round and you can’t select anything.
There is power to the door i/lock but it is not locking.
Could that be where the fault is?
    Any help please
    Mike

I’m guessing a bit as I’m not familiar with this machine but a Bosch is a Bosch. Lock is first thing I’d look at if it’s not locking. I’d figure out which wire is which (may need to dismantle lock) and bridge it. If it’s not getting a neutral though, then there’s probably a burn out on the board.

    Except when it’s a SMEG in a dress……..

SMEG door lock p/no is 814490538 if you don’t want to pay the BSH price for it.

Is there 240 volts on the neutral from the neutral of the lock back to the board when lock is closed,if you want to be sure take the lock off and wire it up to test.

This is probably no help, but on this range of machine once you turn to desired programme the programme time comes into display, after 5 seconds, whether door is open or closed.

I would say the 5 second period of dashes chasing around the display is a self test period. So I suppose it could be any component OC. I would check the pump as well as the valves.

Or just go armed with a door lock.

See I told you I would be of no help. 🙂
