ParticipantHi Could anyone help with problem with the above machine. It is approx 9 years old now. The rinse and spin cycles are working okay, but the machine is not washing properly. The wash cycle sticks at the programme chosen. I can hear a click as though the machine is trying to rotate the drum but nothing much happens. The dryer is working okay too. The machine did function on the delicate programmes m – n but now it doesnt seem to be rotating as it should when washing. Is this easily fixed or is this not economical now. If n ot I would like to purchase another washer/dryer because of space, which manufacturer do you recommend?
many thanks :rolls:

Slightly awkward one – timer and pcb controlled machine. Does the drum rotate at all?

ParticipantHi used machine on m (wool wash) and the drum rotated roughly twice then stopped then repeated this action. Went from m cycle to n cycle in less than 5 minutes which I dont think is right. On N wash, the drum didnt rotate properly, it seemed as though it was trying to but only did maybe half a turn. The whole wash cycle did this till it went onto rinse so washing not done properly. Help?

I would take a look at the carbon brushes in the motor as a starting point – article HERE.
If the motr does not function correctly, the pcb will adfvance the time to the end, thus aborting the programme.
Power off if you’re going to do this yourself.

ParticipantThe carbon motor brushes were replaced about 5 weeks ago, so dont think that is the problem. These were done by an engineer not me so they should have been fitted correctly. I’ve also tried the machine on a j wash and k wash and the drum does rotate on these and on the a wash which is a pre-wash, so its working on some programmes and not others!
