Neff B1451 oven light – I find the interior light bulb is stuck firmly whenever I have to replace it and the joint between metal base and glass bulb usually breaks during removal and I have to resort to using pliers. Tried screwing new bulb in less tightly but still gets stuck. This time the small threaded collar between bulb base and ceramic holder came out with the bulb base! How do I get it back? If I have to remove oven, how do I do this? Lastly, is there a trick to stop bulbs getting stuck in future? Thanks for any help.

Me again. That was a silly question – getting the oven out was dead easy – just hadn’t done it before; should have looked before asking.
Can’t get to the lamp holder from behind the oven without disturbing all the insulation and it looks like it would be difficult to replace properly.
Must be able to put the lamp collar back from the front but can’t see how! It seems to be wider than the hole it has to go in. It has two protrusions in its flat rim that don’t seem to engage with anything. Does the collar make an electrical connection between the metal screw on the bulb and the return leg of the lamp circuit? if so, how? It has no wires connected, no sign that any wires have broken off, and no obvious metal parts against which it would make a contact!
This shouldn’t be beyond me but a bit of advice always makes these jobs so much easier.Re: Interior light in Neff B1451 oven
Don’t mess about with it. Replacement unit is p/no 186942, spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly. Around £15 plus the usual, I think.
