ParticipantWell my HMRC Christmas Card has just dropped onto the coconut matting. :rolls:
They want me to fund their New Year Bash to the tune of £8084.19 this time – barstewards – 🙁
Meanwhile I might make sure their party goes with a swing by flogging a few Hotpoint bits in my garage on eBay maybe…what do ya reckon? 😕

You could listen to the latest edition of “More or Less” on radio4. I think it was the latest; just possibly the one before. One subject discussed was the myths and realities surrounding which income sectors pay the most taxes. Conclusions were different to what I would have expected. I’ll post a link later.

Why don’t you sell a dozen one week courses @ £750.00 a shot, just like the guy last week, that will pay the tax man. :rotl:

Martin Thats a hell of a lot tax. Comparing it to my Jan payment you must be on 80k. Either you need another accountant or I need to move 😮

Mike.Well, I’m sure you will find it for yourself, if you are interested and you didn’t hear it already. So, here instead is a link to the same information in text and graph form which is probably easier to assimilate http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8417205.stm
Worth a read if you have a head for statistics.

It’s I that needs to move, to a tax haven somewhere on the 13th degree North latitude I’m thinking….mmmmm!

After speaking to my accountant he told me to get onto HMRC as there clearly was a mistake. I phoned and spoke to a jobsworth there and he/they admitted an error had been made and a revised/corrected Self Assesment Statement will be sent me in tonights post. -barstewards- 👿
Shocks like that what fell through my letterbox yesterday I don’t need right now -barstewards-
My accountant reckons I owe them less that 2 grand and that they can sing for the rest! My thoughts were a tad more harsh but I’ll go along with what he tells me for the time being anyroad.
2 years and 4 months to go and then no more tax worries for me I hope.
Merry Crimbo!
