ParticipantMy John Lewis JLDWS1202 dishwasher no longer heats or drys the load during a cycle. There are no error codes and the cycle appears to run as normal apart from the lack of heat. I’ve checked the heater and it appears ok with a resistance of approx 25 ohm. Next thing to check I guess is the sensor but I’m not sure how to do this – any advice? It looks like it’s a multifunction device (I assume temperature and turbidity?) and has 4 wires connecting it to the wiring loom. Also if it is faulty any ideas where I can get a spare? I think the part code is DST1113160004

Burnt-out solder joint on the pcb is the most likely culprit.

Thanks for the quick reply Penguin. There was indeed a bad joint under the relay which I have repaired. Unfortunately there is now a new error! After a couple of drain cycles it beeps twice repeatedly which according to the user guide is an outflow problem. I have tried putting some water in the sump and this is cleared easily so I don’t think it’s a blockage problem. I have also checked the pressure switch which appears clear so it brings me back to the sensor which I assume plays a part in sensing an empty sump. Is there any way to test the sensor or at least eliminate it as the source of the problem?
Thanks

If the water is pumping out but the machine thinks it’s still full (ie the pressure switch is holding in the full position), the fault may well be a blockage in the water matrix.

Matrix was full of crud so I removed it and gave it a good clean out. Still coming up with the same error. I read the post about perhaps needing a new matrix but the fact the drain fault only started after I ‘fixed’ the solder joint makes me wonder if the control board is faulty – perhaps I damaged it whilst repairing the relay joint? Time to call in a professional I think.

Hi.
It may be a fault with the pressure switch itself.
