Just moved into a new rental property and the dishwasher is starting to play up after just over a week since we arrived.

The machine’s approximately 2-3 yrs old. After selecting any programme, it starts to “cycle” for about a minute, stops and BEEPs twice and once more, then starts to “cycle” again. It repeats this about every 20-30 seconds or so.

Called the Whirlpool folks and they gave me the beeping codes:

    1 BEEP = board failure
    2 BEEPs = leak
    3 BEEPs = heating failure
    4 BEEPs = drainage failure
    5 BEEPs = rotor blockage
6 BEEPs = water flow failure

    etc….

So if my machine BEEPs twice, then once, does that mean I have a board failure AND a leak, or does it mean I have a heating failure? Not quite sure how to proceed, but I’d rather fix this myself if I can. When I look inside no water has entered the chamber.

Will give it a good clean and fill the salt storage when I get home. But any wisdom would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks

It’s a SMEG-built appliance. The beeps are irrelevant – an error is displayed by the pattern of lights on the 5 LEDs.

However, you are describing a classic corruption issue – have a read of THIS ARTICLE for more info.
