My Miele W919 nocks on spin. Theres at least 1/2 inch play on the inner drum relative to the outer at the front. Also at the rear a brown stain and metal shavings have been thrown out from the drive wheel. I assume this means the drum bearings have failed? Is this a job I can tackle (I have an engineering background) and if so where can I find instructions for doing this?

    Hi,

You won’t get much in the way of help unless one of the guys here has done one before as, Miele don’t do service info outside their own engineers, period. 🙁

The last one I encountered was a bit of a pig to do and have oxygen to hand when you get a price for the bearings as they ain’t cheap. Most are only available from Miele although we do carry some in the shop IIRC.

Hi matey it is possible to remove the bearing spyder! Miele chaps use a special A frame to remove the drum from the casing…
Can be done without doing this by laying machine on its front but its not for the faint hearted as access is difficult to bolts!!
best way is to remove drum from the cabinet but get help very heavy!!!
Hard to give you precise instructions on removal? but if your a good engineer just do it step by step making lots of notes and pictures!!!
the bearing kit comes with all you need new bolts, grease etc part no#3589002
    hope this helps Brian….
