does Anyone Know Where The Customer Stands ❓

Person Buys A New Appliance. Lets Say In Six months time. Another Person Becomes The Legal rightful Owner. And The Appliance Breaks Down. ❓ Does The Manufacturer have To Honer The Guarantee That Comes With The Appliance

Depends on the conditions of the warranty that is offered.

    Re: new Owner

Generally if you sell on the appliance and it has any warranty left it go’s with the appliance from the original purchase date, only thing is if not registered may be hard to prove purchase date.

No warranty is passed on to a new owner automatically unless it is stated in the instruction book, there is no legal requirement to either as the original contract with the original purchaser has been broken.

Had this quite a few times working for manufacturers who 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time said walk away…… sometimes they had a heart….. but only sometimes.

    Re: new Owner

At Hotpoint i think that the official line is that warranties are non transferable, however in practice if the new owner has the orig proof of purchase or the s/n on machine shows it is under 12mths it will be honoured.
