Anyone got a good contact for the ABS briefcase type tool boxes. RS are having a laugh at about £100+vat for one of their cheaper ones.

Personally I would opt for the RS one. I replaced mine last year with a new one, the old one cost me about £90 and lasted me the best part of ten years, and I only replaced the inner boards once because the elastic tool holders snapped. Those only cost me about £25 for the pair I think, so all in all a pretty good investment at a little over a tenner a year.

The CPC one’s are Ok, I’ve bought a couple for engineers here, but they don’t last anywhere near as long and you can’t buy the replacement boards for most of them.

It just so happens this is one of the topics I was discussing with my missus whilst I was on holiday at christmas. 8) I have had a leather tool case made up by a spanish leather worker that holds all the normal day to day tools(screwdrivers, pliers, crimpers, meter, small torch ect)This is about £70 in sterling and have had a spare one made for my brother who now wants another for his other engineer,If anyone is interested I will be going back in a few weeks time and if you want one I’ll get one made up for when I get there,My original one has lasted for about 4 yrs and ive just had to have the elastic replaced on it.
