I purchased a miele s4211 about 2.5 yrs ago. It’s been great until last night when it made a nasty noise from the motor end of the cylinder – and went down on power and started to smell burnt!

My first thoughts are that the motor has just burned out … but is there anything else I could check? I assume if it is the motor it won’t be that cheap?

Because I can’t manage without a vac, I went and purchased another miele s5000 cat and dog and got it for half price £89.00 discontinued! Kind of defeats the object of getting miele in the first place but hey.

    Any advice would be welcome.

(I’ve made some real good purchase decisions based on the content of this website!).

    Thanks.

From your description sounds like the motor is at fault,New vacuum time.

Miele picked it and do a fixed repair for £69, so that’s pretty good.

I got the c&d on an off chance dicontinued comet product by just dropping in.
