PCB power supply fault – new PCB is the answer. (or a refurb from EMW of course!!).

Got this from a recent post, haven’t tried it myself….

    Easy fix !!
Largest in the 3 capacitors on the main board rated 680u – 10v ….
Domed the top so sweated it off and replaced by a farnell item , cost all of 17 pence . Downside is you can only buy them in tens , i can live with that though …

I’m going to order some to try on my next WF or WT which has gone into disco mode.

    http://uk.farnell.com/rubycon/10zl680m8x16/capacitor-680uf-10v/dp/1144681

I think these should do the trick.

Just ordered some of these, is Farnell a different part of CPC Farnell?

It is a different web site.

The capacitor does show signs of damage, its the biggest of the group of three, there is a larger one near the edge of the board.

£2.08 for 10 inc delivery, nothing to lose really. 8)

Went back to this machine today.

I can confirm that changing that capacitor worked a treat. 8)

    I think this deserves a sticky. 😉
