ModeratorNeff condenser drier R4380X0eu/04.
This is the older style neff/Bosch drier with a control module up front and a power module in the side panel. Problem is its not getting hot enough although the heater is ok. I can only get 2.63 (3.6amps inc motor and pump) amps being drawn when heating on any setting. effect is machine either takes ages to dry on time setting or times out on sensor setting. I have changed the power module with no effect. Heater is being fed with 2 lives from the power board so I guess it must be a neutral problem. Any ideas?
thanks in advance.January 13, 2010 at 8:47 pm #308740superfix

Even though the plugs are coded, there is one which can be put on in the wrong place.
The result is exactly as you describe…. I know cos I’ve done it myself !!

but, it was the original fault and no one else has looked at it. I assume.

In that case, whats the state of the carbon pick up on the bearing like ??.

does not have one, this one uses the 2 carbon brushes on the drum, one front one mid/rear.

Have you removed the bearing and checked ??
Cos my info shows a carbon pickup on the bearing too.

Thanks for the info. Would that be to earth the drum then? I did think the front brush was doing that and if the bearing earth has gone, then would it still affect when on timed dry?
I am awaiting the expected re call at the moment, if/when if comes I will have to take a look again, must admit not something I had looked at.February 5, 2010 at 2:59 pm #308746A1_Domestics

How did you get on with this?

the expected re call has not materialised. ALthough when I tested it, it certainly was not heating up on both heaters. Customer has paid for the power board so I would assume they would have been straight on the phone had it not worked. Maybe I was worrying over nothing….would love a service manual for these though as they are a bit of a mystery to me.
So, as far as I know, the power board in the side cured the problem. -
