    Hi

I am having a problem with an overheating control panel. It only happens when I use the grill function in the top oven ( whilst leaving the door open as per manual). It happens intermittently and the control panel gets so hot if you touch any of the knobs you will burn yourself.

Do you have any ideas what could be the cause?

    I’d appreciate any assistance.

Cooling fan running? There should be a draught between the control panel and the grill cavity within a few minutes.

There’s no fan in the top oven, is this what you meant?

No. There is a cooling fan (as opposed to the circulation fan in the main oven) mounted on top of the top oven, which is supposed to blow air out over the top of the top oven door and so cool the electronics in the control panel. This should start shortly after the ovens start to heat up. If you can’t feel a draught after 20 minutes, something is wrong.

Thanks – that is very helpful, I think you have hit the nail on the head here, I’ll check to see if its coming on or not.
